GEN Sp. z o.o. was founded in 2005 as the Polish subsidiary of the probate research company GEN Gesellschaft für Erbenermittlung mbH. The headquarters in the border town of Slubice is an allegory for the many probate cases in which research stretches from currently German regions to Poland.
The subsidiary in Wroclaw, which has existed since 2014, makes shorter routes possible to those areas of Poland further to the east and south, especially to important archives and registry offices. Through our office in the fourth largest city in Poland and capital of the historical region of Silesia, our probate researchers can deliver even quicker well-founded results, clarify lines of succession, and search for and locate unknown (co-)heirs.
A large part of the Polish population which immigrated to the USA or Canada prior to 1914 originates from the former Galicia. For this reason a branch was opened in Krakow in the fall of 2015 in order to quickly locate Polish heirs to North American probate cases.
In the beginning, the main focus of the work in Poland was to research and obtain documentation for German probate cases. Now the colleagues at the headquarters in Slubice and the branches in Wroclaw and Krakow are more increasingly handling Polish probate case.
