GEN Sp. z o.o. was founded in 2005 as a subsidiary of GEN Gesellschaft für Erbenermittlung mbH. The headquarters in the border town of Slubice is an allegory for many cases whose research stretches from currently German regions to Poland. The subsidiary in Wroclaw, which has existed since 2014, makes shorter routes possible to those areas of Poland further to the east and south, especially to important archives and vital records offices. Through our office in the fourth largest city in Poland and capital of the historical region of Silesia, well-founded results can be delivered even quicker. As our work in Poland began, the emphasis was placed on research and obtaining vital records. Now probate cases originating in Poland are being worked on at the headquarters in Slubice as well as at the Wroclaw branch. A large part of the Polish population which immigrated to the USA or Canada prior to 1914 has its roots in the former Galicia. For this reason a subsidiary was opened in Krakow in the fall of 2015 in order to quickly locate Polish heirs to North American probate cases.
